Mark's Story

What an amazing experience it was. From the moment we arrived, we felt very welcome and, after a couple of days we acclimatised to the weather!

Kokrobite is a friendly and beautiful little village with Milly’s and the beach a favourite of mine. As you walk past all the stalls and shops everyone speaks and says hello!

The Learning Centre was something else - as if a classroom from England had been teleported to Africa and landed in Jane & Martial's back garden. A fantastic facility which I enjoyed to use, presenting two football workshops to local teachers and coaches. The highlight of the visit has to be the children. Always happy, never crying, always with a smile on their face. Watching them play and enjoy the centre was brilliant, and it was great to join in and see their games, songs and dances.

The main focus of the trip however, was to coach football, and that was a fantastic experience. The football lads were brilliant and the smiles will live with me forever, as well as the dust! They listened, gave 100% and hopefully enjoyed the sessions as much as I did. Presenting them with equipment, balls and shirts will hopefully mean they can continue to enjoy their sport for years to come.

Last but not least, I can’t go without mentioning banana pancakes !! Wonderful, thank you Jane!
